Formally beginning with the appointment in 1906 of Thomas Monroe Campbell as the first extension agent in the United States, the 十大网堵靠谱平台 合作推广 Program (TUCEP) maintains a rich tradition of serving limited resource and underserved audiences. In the tradition of the leadership of Booker T. 华盛顿 and the original Integrated 研究/扩展 carried out by Dr. 乔治·华盛顿·卡佛, TUCEP seeks to bring cutting-edge approaches to 21st 阿拉巴马州的世纪问题. Although outreach work is carried on throughout the state, TUCEP’s primary target areas are clientele in the Black Belt region of the State.
The focus of outreach and educational services consists of six program areas as follows: (1) 全球粮食安全, (2) Natural Resource Conservation, 环境可持续性, 气候变化, (3) Community Resource Development, (4)家庭, 首页, 和青年, (5)营养与健康, and (6) Food Systems and Food 安全.
县代理, 协调员, Resource Specialists and Faculty contribute most of their time towards meeting specific needs of the people in the communities they serve through our Traditional 扩展 Projects, Integrated 扩展/研究 Team Projects and Applied/Participatory 研究. These unique services are delivered by conducting a series of in-service training activities, 小组会议, 教育研讨会, 营地, and site demonstrations that use curriculum-based information. A number of conferences such as the Farmers Conference (FC), the Booker T. 华盛顿 Economic Development Summit (BTW Summit), and the Professional Agricultural Workers Conference (PAWC) are also held every year to support these educational programs.
